‘Initial driving cog for transfer of power from the water wheel to the grindstone mechanism. Recovered during work to the former Merry Miller Public House, Bettws to build 19 affordable homes for Pobl Group, Newport. The former Malpas Mill had previously occupied the site, but this had been effectively destroyed post Second World War period.  The new development has been subsequently named Old Mill Court’.
